I was at the West End a few times with my dad and Phil Schaap. It's still there, but without the Jazz guys... There is now an Eddie Durham Park in San Marcos Texas, Dunbar neighborhood across from the Calaboose Museum - have you been to either?
I got to see Eddie play many times at the West End in NY in the mid-seventies...
